100th Year Anniversary for the City of Inglewooood!

Heeey, I'm excited about this. With a nice million invested, Market Street would get the TLC that it needs, luckily they're celebrating their 100th year anniversary and bringing love and recognition to their home town....plus I'm loving all the free parties going on around town. Let's see....they've got this underground boutique that I frequent that's perfect for last minute T's, ooh and this Taco House with unbelievable shrimp tacos. And, of course the classic Inglewood Swapmeet. Mark your calendar and plan to attend Inglewood’s 11th annual "Inglewood Celebrates the Arts Market Street Festival," taking place Saturday, October 4, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. to dusk. This festival promises fun and entertainment for individuals, families and children of all ages. Festival activities will take place along historic downtown Market Street from Florence Avenue to Hillcrest Boulevard. Come and enjoy the sounds of Brazil, Africa, Cuba, Mexico and of course or own, American Jazz and R & B. Renowned entertainers including the Javon Davis Band, Susie Hansen Latin Band, Friends, Hollywood All-Stars and People's Choice, will perform throughout the day on three different stages. Young performing artists such as All That Dance Company, Fantasia Dance Ensemble, Danza Huitzilopochtli and Ballet Folklorico Macias will also be showcased in the day’s line-up. Booths featuring multicultural artists, interactive games, storytellers, illustrators, and arts and crafts for children will line the streets. Have fun! :) Kudos to KJLH 102.3 fm for always sponsoring community events, tune in weekdays from 3pm-7pm for a live radio show with chances to win concert tickets in the Q pack. *scarf shopping* ~Candice
